The Humanities team will set one Extended Learning Project (ELP) each half term to each student in KS3.

These projects enable students to develop as independent learners and to gain a wider understanding of the world around them. The ELP’s will be set by class teachers and marked in accordance with the schedule which can be found below. We are always happy to provide guidance and support-please ask! After school homework club is also a valuable source of information.

Red square   French and German Homework

You will be set one homework each fortnight, according to the school published timetable for your group. This homework will be set to encourage you to be more independent in your learning, and to consolidate the learning you have done in class.

For example:

  • It may be to learn some words, structures or phrases, but you will be given some hints and tips as how to do this.
  • It may be to do some writing based around the work you have done in class.
  • It may be some reading in preparation for the next lesson
  • It may be preparing a speaking task
  • It may be practising a speaking task (perhaps to be assessed next lesson)
  • It may be to do some research about a French or German-speaking part of the world

The task may well be differentiated according to your ability.

It should not take more than 30 minutes to complete.
